Taking Care of the Workforce: Incorporate Stress Management into Staff Activities and Trainings

Louisiana Spirit realized that their program had to represent a sustainable model of health to keep the workforce healthy. Workforce well-being was particularly important given that many of whom were hired were directly impacted by the storms and still in the recovery stage. The program imparted useful stress management techniques to its staff and addressed compassion fatigue by hiring a team of Stress Managers that provided direct stress management services to a individuals and groups on public, private, and government levels; and conducting numerous stress management seminars throughout the duration of the program.
