The attached report is submitted on behalf of the Food Safety Modernization Act Study Committee in response to Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 178 of the 2014 Regular Legislative Session of the Louisiana Legislature which urged the committee to study and make recommendations with respect to the implementation of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act.

DHH response to House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 201 of the 2014 Regular Legislative Session of the Louisiana Legislature which authorized and requested DHH to study the feasibility of providing a choice of fiscal/employer agents, including a Louisiana-based option, to Medicaid enrollees who hire a direct service worker as a home-based attendant through a waiver program administered by the department.

Act 212 of the 2013 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature requires the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) to submit annual reports concerning the Bayou Health program to the Legislature’s Senate and House Committees on Health and Welfare. The following Bayou Health Transparency Report: Calendar Year (CY) 2013 is intended to provide all information outlined in Act 212 for the second annual report to the Legislature.

The charge of Act 212 of the 2013 Regular Legislative Session was to provide transparency relative to Medicaid managed care programs. Within the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), this involves the Louisiana Behavioral Health Partnership (LBHP) and its included Coordinated System of Care (CSoC).

The Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submits the attached response to Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 127 of the 2014 Regular Legislative Session which urged the Department of Health and Hospitals to develop a plan for the creation of a demonstration program to coordinate and integrate the health care for persons eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.

The Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submits this correspondence in response to House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 208 of the 2014 Regular Legislative Session of the Louisiana Legislature which urged the Department of Health and Hospitals to develop a formula that demonstrates an equitable funding distribution for the human service districts and authorities (HSDA).

DHH submits the attached response to SR 162 and HR 173 of the 2014 Regular Session regarding the Mental Health Emergency Room Extension previously in operation at Earl K. Long Medical Center and concerning how services formerly delivered there will be resumed in the community of Baton Rouge.

In response HR 211 of the 2013 Regular Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submits the attached response. HR 211 directed DHH to study means for improving access to and reliability of nonemergency medial transportation (NEMT) for Medicaid enrollees and to submit its findings to the House Committee on Health and Welfare.

Report to the House of Representatives Louisiana State Legislature - March 15, 2013. The report was produced as a result of a six month study of long term care financing, including: research, analysis, presentations from subject matter experts, debate, discussion and dialogue among the members and stakeholders. The methodology of the work of the study group utilized consensus decision-making. While participants may not necessarily agree with every statement within the report, the report does reflect the overall consensus of the study group.

In response to HR 102 of the 2013 Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submits the attached report on the results of the school-located vaccination programs which addresses barriers to the expansion of the programs and proposes options for sustaining existing programs to the House Committee on Health and Welfare.
