Services
The STD/HIV Program's (SHP) Services Unit provides a variety of patient care services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, such as primary medical care, medications, dental services, assistance with transportation, rent and utilities, child care, supplemental food items, and other needed support services.
STD/Hepatitis/HIV Program
The STD/HIV/Hepatitis Program (SHP) administers statewide and regional programs designed to prevent the transmission of STDs, Hepatitis, and HIV, to ensure the availability of quality medical and social services for those diagnosed with an STD, Hepatitis, or HIV, and to track the impact of the STDs, Hepatitis, and HIV epidemics in Louisiana.
STD/HIV Prevention
The Prevention Department of the STD/HIV/Hepatitis Program (SHHP) is primarily funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additional funding from the state of Louisiana contributes to STD testing and treatment in parish health units.
