ASC Licensing Standards – LAC 48.I.Chapter 45

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – September 10, 2025 – The Department of Health, Health Standards Section (the department), proposes to amend LAC 48:I.4587 as authorized by R.S. 36:254. This proposed Rule is promulgated in accordance with the provisions of the Administrative Procedure Act, R.S. 49:950 et seq. The department proposes to amend the provisions governing the licensing of ambulatory surgical centers in order to ensure compliance with Facility Guidelines Institute, Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities, as adopted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal for building and construction, and to add provisions for waivers in certain situations.

Notice of Intent (proposed changes): ASC NOI 25.09. It is anticipated that the Notice of Intent will be published in the September 20, 2025 edition of the Louisiana Register.
