Close Your Medicaid
Do you need to close your Medicaid?
If things in your life have changed, you may want to close your Medicaid. If your income or your household has changed, you may no longer need or qualify for coverage.
What you need when requesting closure of your Medicaid:
Name
Social Security Number or Case ID (found on your letters from Medicaid)
Name and date of birth for everyone requesting closure
You have options. You can request closure...
Online
The easiest way to close your Medicaid is to log into your account in Medicaid's Self-Service Portal at MyMedicaid.la.gov.
It takes four steps and no more than five minutes to close your Medicaid.
When you log into the Self-Service Portal, select the option "Request closure of your case" and select "yes" to confirm you want to close your case.
You will be asked to review your household information and sign with an electronic signature to confirm your closure.
You will get a confirmation number when the process is complete.
If you don't have an account it's easy to create one. There are resources to help you. Click on the video or guide below.
