October 28, 2024 Medicaid Provider Enrollment Rebaseline Project Has Begun

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Oct 28, 2024 - Louisiana Medicaid launched its Medicaid Provider Enrollment Rebaseline on October 25, 2024, and future rebaselines for new providers will occur every two months thereafter.

Rebaseline means new managed care organization (MCO) credentialed providers not enrolled with Louisiana Medicaid will receive an invitation to enroll through the web portal. The invitation letter will provide specific provider information and detailed instructions needed for the enrollment process.

Providers who receive an enrollment invitation letter must enroll with Louisiana Medicaid to avoid impacts on claims processing. Providers with multiple provider types must complete an enrollment for each type.

Providers will have 120 days from the date of the executed MCO provider agreement to complete the Louisiana enrollment process. It is important to submit enrollment applications promptly and ensure they are completed by the deadline specified in the enrollment invitation letter. We strongly recommend submitting enrollment applications upon receipt of the invitation to facilitate timely processing. Please allow several weeks for application review and approval. Failure to complete enrollment by the designated deadline may result in claim denials and deactivation from the Louisiana Medicaid program.

Providers who are still determining their enrollment status or want to check their application status may use the Provider Portal Enrollment Lookup Tool at https://www.lamedicaid.com/portalenrollmentstatus/search. The results will show the provider’s status as either complete enrollment, action required, application not submitted, or currently being processed by Gainwell Technologies. Providers not shown in the results are not required to enroll at this time. Invitation letters for those providers will be sent at a later date.
