Changes to Medicaid Health Plans in 2026

The Louisiana Department of Health will extend its Medicaid managed care contract with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) for 90 days. The contract will continue through March 31, 2026.

These changes do not impact any Medicaid members’ eligibility.

If UnitedHealthcare is your current health plan, you will remain enrolled with UnitedHealthcare. You will not be reassigned to a new health plan on January 1, 2026. You do not need to take any action at this time.

If you do not have UnitedHealthcare as your current health plan, then your plan will not change. Your coverage will continue exactly as it is today.
