Molluscan Shellfish Reclassification Maps (May-August 2026)
The Louisiana Molluscan Shellfish Program classifies all molluscan shellfish growing areas 4 times a year and publishes maps showing which areas are approved for harvesting molluscan shellfish. Seasonal reclassifications are based on statistical data using Food and Drug Administration (FDA) criteria, which analyzes results from water quality samples collected on or adjacent to the growing areas.
